A YEAR WITHOUT MAKE-UP: BUT ... there really is something NEED? // UN ANNO SENZA TRUCCO: MA… CE N’È DAVVERO BISOGNO?

in a world haunted by more and more women and girls they are not satisfied with their appearance and use makeup to feel more beautiful rather than accept themselves as they are. There is always a pimple too, one kg to lose, an imperfection to hide ... indeed how many times we happen to feel totally at peace with ourselves? Annie writes in his blog: "If women judge themselves and others only their physical aspect, how can they expect not do the men too? If women look in the mirror constantly repeating that they are not enough, how could they gain confidence to become senators or CEOs? "

His experiment, then, comes from the idea that eliminating the make-up can help you feel good to you as it really is, not only with the elongated eyelashes mascara and colorful standardized by the foundation. In this regard, Annie shows the reflection of her friend Carly: "Using makeup to feel at ease. When I make-up seems to me that all of them have an unfair advantage over me. It's like being in a constant race to be the most beautiful, and no makeup you can not win "

Now they are 8 months that Annie has removed the make-up of his life and has not been able to get used to the whole. He said that at the beginning he felt uncomfortable especially at university parties, as it was next to girls all dressed up and ready to play; few guys noticed, she was more timid, not dancing as not to attract attention to himself and ran to return home early or even to avoid the party. It does not specify whether now the situation has changed and acquired self-confidence; by his words he understands that he has learned to give less importance to physical appearance and opinions of others, but do not know if it actually came to feel completely at ease without the protection of the make-up. It also realized that women lose many hours behind the right look and is happy to have saved time, money and energy that otherwise would have wasted trying to fix surface defects. He has decided to rely on other features, working on the kindness, humor and positivity. It realized that people treat her differently, but which ones really matter have not changed attitude towards him.

You know that usually I do not like to make judgments too radical, but I must say that this time I am not a fan of the project. As make-up artist I will be biased, but ... who said that to be no make-up is actually the best choice? I already addressed this issue in the post "no make-up Get out of the house: tragedy or liberation?" And I repeat my point of view: I envy those who can feel sexy and comfortable without a make-up thread, but I personally need use some product to feel better. Perfect a face, of course, it does not mean distorting it! I would like to ask Annie What's wrong with a little 'of concealer on dark circles or in a coat of mascara on the lashes; are perhaps less "Clio" When I'm wearing makeup? But above all: it is really wrong and superficial to want to appear pretty and groomed? We live in a society where importance is given to the look, clothing, makeup, hair, to physical fitness; It is not beautiful, but the way things are and unfortunately you have to adapt to certain canons. Of course, he is right to look at Annie with women dissatisfied with their appearance sorrow, but this is where our views diverge: in your makeup means surrender, give up, give in to the pressures of society, while in my opinion is that little gesture it helps to gain an edge and to face life with more positivity. When we feel good about ourselves we are better people, cheerful, motivated and productive; the day when we have dirty hair, a rash of pimples in the face and bags under the eyes, however, throw ourselves down and see all black. He also told Annie about the holidays: being "natural" he felt inferior to the other girls, had less desire to talk to new people and to draw attention to himself, while a few gestures would be enough to regain the failure confidence.

Speaking of natural look, Annie rightly notes that BELIEVE men to prefer the no make-up girls, but in the end what they really want is a light make-up, that is there but you do not see that much. I could not agree more: a heavy make-up requires a certain context, perhaps a special evening while in the daily lives of our comrades tend to appreciate more when we are ourselves. Ourselves ... but with the help of concealer, blush, mascara and eye pencil to;)

Coming to the crux of the matter ...

Why spend a year without makeup to feel uncomfortable most of the time? Why impose this limit? I think in the make-up, as in everything in life, you have to find the right balance, you do not need to take radical positions; Of course, those who feel the need to go out every day with a makeup mask may face should learn to accept more, but at the same time who the others are to judge?

A year without makeup, a year without heels, a year without carbohydrates, a year without television ... but these projects are used to something? Of course, they help those who follow them to see the world from new perspectives, but in the end I think it would be more useful to learn HOW makeup naturally, WHEN is an opportunity to put his heels, HOW OFTEN eat carbohydrates and WHAT follow TV. So Annie, continue your bold experiment, so you're beautiful even without a trace of makeup, but remember that the concealer is not an enemy of women, and a touch of vanity does not define a person!

Girls, I'm curious to know your opinion on this experiment and the reflections that I added in the second part of the post. Your actions are valuable, enriching the blog and minds of those who participate or simply read, so ... thank you!
