la Grande Bellezza, il film italiano di Sorrentino vincitore dell’oscar, ha attirato su di sé una
quantità di critiche che quando si è veramente grandi e oggettivamente belli si riescono, con

Io l’ho trovato pertinente, attuale, coinvolgente, lento quanto basta per comprenderlo a fondo,
caricaturale quanto si deve per rendere al meglio l’idea di un popolo che, per troppo tempo, sta
andando avanti nutrendosi di quanto accumulato nel passato, un passato ormai lontano, sebbene
glorioso.nel senso di monumentale, ovvero una bellezza che inonda, sovrasta, dà i brividi e pretende
venerazione fino ad uccidere – come avviene al turista giapponese all’inizio del film­ e nel suo
senso antifrastico, cioè a indicare la grande, in questo caso, bruttezza, dovuta alla nostra
condizione attuale, alla condizione attuale dei nostri monumenti, perlopiù rovine.
Sebbene in Jep, il protagonista ricco e nulla facente, non si possano riconoscere la maggior parte

come fa la scintilla con il gas, il desiderio di costruire un futuro dalla bellezza tutta italiana.
