GALEOTTO FU IL RITRATTO E CHI LO DIPINSE
Il primo campanello d’allarme riguardo la giovinezza del look di Kate Middleton probabilmente è stato il suo primo ritratto ufficiale, presentato alla National Portrait Gallery di Londra nel 2013.

Scherzi a parte, in effetti la mamma del punk non ha tutti i torti: Kate spesso esagera con la matita occhi, applicandola sia sulla rima esterna che su quella interna, chiudendo così lo sguardo e rimpicciolendo gli occhi che, per quanto belli, non sono molto grandi.
Inoltre, talvolta, Kate esagera con l’ombretto scuro, portandolo indistintamente sia di giorno che di sera e non sfumandolo nemmeno, incupendo il look ed enfatizzando le pieghette degli occhi.
E che dire del bronzer? Va bene avere un colorito sano, ma abusarne non fa altro che peggiorare la situazione!
IL RASO, SPIETATO CON TUTTI!
Il raso è un tessuto spietato e difficile da portare, non importa se realizzato in seta o con fibre sintetiche: la sua lucentezza evidenzia qualunque tipo di difetto e, se presenta anche la minima piegolina o non è stato stirato bene, conferisce al look un risultato disastroso!

SOS STAMPE FLOREALI
Essendosi sposata a 29 anni, Kate è la sposa più “vecchia” della casa reale inglese, e fa fede a questo traguardo sfoggiando orgogliosamente e spesso abiti con stampe a fiori, difficili da portare in giovane età se non si riesce a trovare il giusto equilibrio tra i colori, gli accessori e il taglio dell’abito.
Kate, essendo trentenne, di giorno sarebbe libera di sbizzarrirsi con colori vivaci e accessori allegri ma, come si vede benissimo da questo abito di seta dipinto a mano di Jenny Packham, preferisce non farlo.
Ed è un peccato perché l’insieme risulta smorto, e la stampa floreale non si nota quasi. Le scarpe, open toe color carne di LK Bennett, e la clutch color oro, in questo contesto non aiutano abbastanza.
ABITI TROPPO MORBIDI
Kate Middleton ha una silhouette invidiabile, ma spesso ha indossato abiti un po’ troppo morbidi per la sua figura, e questo le aggiunge qualche anno. Certo, non ce la vediamo accanto al principe ereditario in un succinto e attillato minidress alla Kim K, ma per quanto meravigliosi siano i suoi abiti svolazzanti, non possono certo considerarsi la quintessenza della gioventù.
Un esempio è questo abito monospalla, sempre di Jenny Packham, che Kate ha indossato per una cena di gala al St. James Palace (con l’immancabile trucco nero e taaanto bronzer).
LA SUA ICONA DI STILE? LA MAMMA!
La mamma è sempre la mamma, e a tutte noi è capitato di rubare qualcosa dal suo armadio (o dalla sua trousse eheh). Finché si tratta di qualche accessorio o di un singolo capo può andar bene, ma Kate si è fatta prendere un po’ troppo la mano vestendosi esattamente come la mamma! In questo modo è facile ritrovarsi immediatamente un po’ troppo “signora”, non è vero?
Per quanto questo abito blu elettrico di Reiss con doppiopetto, cintura nera in vita e ampie tasche laterali stia bene a entrambe, forse Kate dovrebbe farsi qualche domanda, considerato che la mamma, Carole Middleton, è riuscita a sdrammatizzarlo meglio, grazie al taglio alle spalle e al fascinator blu e bianco!
Mamma Carole non è l’unica over 50 ad avere in comune con Kate i gusti in fatto d’abbigliamento: anche Caitlyn Jenner ha indossato infatti un wrap-dress di Issa, diverso solo nel colore ma per il resto uguale a quello che ha indossato Kate per annunciare il suo fidanzamento ufficiale col principe William :-D!
